 Marilyn 

Marilyn (Project Director / Tutor)

has over 20 years experience working with children, young people and vulnerable adults and holds a BA degree in Informal and Community Education. She worked within the third sector for most of this time and has developed and supported countless community initiatives across the district, particularly within our local community of Agbrigg and Belle Vue. Her passion for education has led her to train prospective numerous Youth and community Workers. She also provides direct line management to a highly successful youth project in Halifax.

 
 jon taylor 

Jon (Business Development Manager / Tutor)

has over 7 years experience delivering and working on projects that support children, young people and vulnerable adults and holds a Bsc degree in Psychology / Criminology (with Hons). As well as tutoring and providing support services, Jon acts to develop new business and project initiatives, including the acquisition of new funding streams, partnership development and system and project management.

 
 andy 

Andrew (Homelessness Manager)

manages our Homeless Support Service, bringing several years of experience from the commercial sector in public relations to our project. More recently Andrew has gained invaluable experience working for another award winning homeless project and his knowledge and expertise of the issues surrounding those that are homeless is unparalleled. Andrew manages our Homeless Support Workers and liaises on both operational and strategic levels with our partners and other similar initiatives.

 
 hannah 

Hannah (Youth & Community Worker)

has over 7 years experience working with children and young people. She has a BA degree in Fine Art (with Hons) and a Level 3 Diploma in Youth & Community Work. Hannah coordinates many of our volunteers and delivers many of our school based initiatives, as well as providing support to our Homeless Support Service. Her commitment, hard work and passionate approach to people has previously won her awards including 'Wakefield Express Employee of the Year 2007' and led her to hold the position of 'Make your mark' Ambassador for Women in Business 2007-8.

 
 lee pickin 

Lee (Homeless Support Worker)

has over 9 years experience developing, managing and delivering community initiatives in disadvantaged communities within the district. He holds relevant qualifications in youth work, sports and the safeguarding of individuals. He works within our Homeless Support Service, providing invaluable support and administration to some of the most marginalised individuals in society. He is also heavily involved in his own local community serving as an elected Parish Counsellor.

 
 caspa 

Steven aka 'Casper' (Bike Mechanic / Youth & Community Work)

leads on our Bike Barn project. He is M.I.A.S Level 2 MTB instructor and a Professional Cycle Technician with over 15 years mountain bike experience and 30 years repairing bikes of all types. He has led on several similar and highly successful initiatives across the district and his approach and successes with 'hard to reach' young people is unsurpassed.

 

Sessional Staff & Volunteers – work throughout Informal Learning and deliver on all our services, providing us with invaluable support and expertise. We actively encourage volunteer support derived from our own service user base and we have many young people, current and ex service users delivering work for us. We also work in partnership with several more established Volunteer schemes such as 'V for Volunteers'. Our sessional workers are often professionally qualified specialists in specific areas such as Youth Work, Arts and Crafts, Sport or Music for example.
